Description

Fine example of Halma's map of the Campus Martius (Field of Mars) in Rome, an important archeological site and formerly the most populous area in Rome.

The map shows the former layout of Campus Martius, with its many monuments, temples, forums, and more. Still standing, from these monuments, is the Pantheon, one of the most replicated buildings of Rome.

The image is surrounded by decorative elements, including an angelic scribe and a fallen Roman monument.
