Description

Nice original antique map showing the routes undertaken during the seven crusades or holy wars undertaken by Christians to conquer Jerusalem.

The map shows the paths of the crusades as they left Europe and ventured to the Holy Land. Some left Europe via overland routes from the Kingdom of Hungary, but most went by sea from Italy and France. The kingdoms then reigning in the Middle East are delimited.

The map presents a fascinating and concise geography for the early Middle Ages. This map was published n Florence in 1838 by Francesco Marmocchi.
