Scarce promotional map, showing the lines of the Kansas Pacific Railroad from Kansas City to Denver, with connection to Clear Creek, Boulder, Cheyenne City and Trinidad, and several minor spurs in Kansas and Eastern Colorado.
The map provides an interesting caricature of the mountain ranges of Colorado, locating the major towns, mountains and mining regions, as well as illutrating the major roads from point to point. The whole makes for a fine presentation.
The map shows each of the stations along the routes of the Kansas Pacific, with an elegant cartouche illustrating a passenger train speeding across the Plains in the direction of the Rocky Mountains.
The map is quite scarce on the market, this being only the second example we have offered for sale in over 20 years.
