The map shows the routes of the Galleons from Havana to Cartagena and from Cartaagena to Porto Bello and to Spain. A number of annotations note discoveries by Columbus, along wit htehSpanish discovery of Puerto Rico in 1493.
Heiden's work focused on the various theaters of war and strategic points of interest during the Seven Years War between France and Great Britain. The map was previously issued by Georg Christoph Kilian in Augsburg. Both the Killian and Heiden editions are quite rare.
