Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Shipping rates are provided as part of the checkout process.

Description

Terrific steel plate engraved view of the City of San Francisco from the hills, facing the bay. The view is intended to show the simple town which predated the gold rush, standing in stark contrast to the companion contemporary view illustrating the town only a few years later. A few buildings and sailing craft shown, with Alcatraz in the backgound. A wonderful early historical view.

La Parte Occidentale Dell'Antico, E Nuovo Messico Con Florida E La Bassa Luigiana Delineata sulle ultime Osservazioni, printed in Rome at the Calcografia Camerale in 1798 by Giovanni Maria Cassini, is a striking example of Cassini's work, detailing California, Arizona, New Mexico, parts of Texas, Baja California, and Mexico. This 18th-century map, possibly the sole instance from that era to feature a decorative cartouche and vignette, offers an intricate view of the region's geography, extending from the Rio Grande to the Colorado River, and the Gila River.
