Description
Extremely rare English plan of Barcelona, published by David Mortier, with View of the Harbor of Barcelona and view of Mount Joui at the bottom. David Mortier was a relative of Pierre Mortier, the famous publisher who worked in Amsterdam. David Mortier's works are extremely rare. Equally rare is the subject matter, a large format plan of the fortifications and battle waged by the English in Barcelona, with reference keys showing many important features of the battle and a key illustrating the major points of interest in Barcelona which appear in the view from the harbor. The map was likely separately issued, although this example may have been bound into an atlas.
