Created by Jean-Gaston Mantel, a French artist known for his paintings in Morocco, this map marks cities, roads, train routes, places to stay, and natural landmarks like lakes and woods. The map is beautifully decorated with pictures of people and animals from Morocco.
Mantel studied art in Paris and later moved to Morocco's capital, Rabat, where he opened his studio. He eventually settled on the French Riviera and continued to paint scenes of Moroccan life, which he also included on this map.
