Description

Vintage travel brochure touting Greyhound's tours in the Northwest via the northern short route.

In the Wenatchee Valley Area is the "Queen of Apples," for the Apple Blossom Festival held in the region. Passengers in a bus heading south from Calgary sing the Scottish folk song "Loch Lomond." Butte, Montana's copper and silver mines are shown as a hill with colonnaded banks atop it. Portland has its Rose Festival slogan, “For you a rose in Portland grows,” with a woman's face in a bloomed rose. A mermaid calls a man to the sea near Aberdeen, that city now the site of The International Mermaid Museum.

The Washington Motor Coach System (WMCS) was acquired by Greyhound in the late 1920s. After this acquisition, Greyhound began operating WMCS as one of its subsidiaries. Over time, Greyhound integrated many of its acquired regional bus companies into its larger national system, and the distinct identity of companies like WMCS became less prominent. By the mid-20th century, most of these regional systems were simply operating under the Greyhound name or had been fully absorbed into the broader Greyhound system.
