Description

Vintage printed-color travel brochure for the River Lines, steamship travel on the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers between San Francisco, Stockton, and Sacramento on the Delta King and Delta Queen. The brochure touts the route's view of the 1939-1940 Golden Gate International Exposition. The fair was held in part to celebrate the completion of the Bay Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge, the former of which, along with improvements to Highway 80, made the riverboat trips obsolete. Service ended after the winter of 1941 and afterwards both ships were leased by the Navy.

Condition Description
Minor nick along bottom edge.
