Description

Lithographed bird's-eye view wall map of the Holy Land, modern-day Israel, by H.C. Tunison, an important commercial mapmaker in Chicago during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The lithographed map renders includes a lengthy key, spanning over 300 numbered items. The map emphasizes topography, which is rendered pictorially.

This is the 1902 first edition, which is indicated with a small printed note in the bottom border.

The map solicits salesmen "for this and other maps".

Condition Description
Hand-colored lithographed wall map mounted on linen and wooden dowels. Toned and faded. Some creases and cracking of the paper. Please note the image was created by compositing several digital images, and as a result, there might be areas where the images are not perfectly aligned.
