Showing The Newly Discovered Planet Herschel

Finely engraved map of the Copernican model of the Solar System, pubished in Paris by Delamarche.

The outermost planet shown in the model is Herschel, the first planet discovered in modern times (William Herschel -- 1781). Herschel named it the Georgian Planet in honor of King George III of England. Later, the planet was eventually renamed Uranus around 1850, honoring the tradition of naming planets after gods in Greek Mythology.
