Elaborately Printed Wyoming Oil Company Prospectus

An unusually elaborate oil prospectus for this Wyoming-based oil company. The Chappell Oil Company, which was incorporated in April 1918, had its home office was in Casper, Wyoming. The firm's business office was in Denver. Howard Weber is listed as president. The Company claims herein to have 29 producing wells in Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Texas.

This beautifully printed and illustrated prospectus covers the company's oil leases in Wyoming, Montana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Texas:

  • Wyoming: 80 acres in the Salt Creek Oil Field, 160 acres in the Big Muddy Oil Field, and 200 acres in the Bolton Anticline in the vicinity of Casper.
  • Texas: 10 acres in the Burk-Waggoner Field, 20 acres south of Burkburnett, 960 acres in Duval County (on the path of the Gusher Tampico Field)
  • Montana: 600 acres in the Cat Creek Oil Field
  • Oklahoma: 170 acres in the Jenks Pool, near Tulsa.
  • Kentucky: 300 acres in the great Irving Field.
  • Kansas: 238 acres in Wilson County.

Illustrations

Contains pages of oil field maps and several nice panoramic photo views of refineries and Chappell's Burkwaggoner Field in Texas. In addition to the numerous detailed oil field maps and panoramic photographic views there is a double-page illustration reproducing loads of cancelled checks intended to prove the company's income from selling oil, as well as dividend checks to stockholders.
