Rare wall map of the United States, issued immediately after the Gadsden Purchase. Massive Nebraska Territory, Kansas, Oregon, Washington, Utah and New Mexico dominate the West, each in an oversized territorial configuration. Also pre-dates Dakota, with Minnesota in a massive Territorial configuration and pre-dates the final configuration of Indian Territory. Nice detail on the Indians of the west. Decorative border and seal of the United States, along with ships in the ocean. A nice example, which has had its old varnish stripped and the linen restored, making it much easier to handle and much more stable (and attractive) than most wall maps of this period. A rare and desireable map, made more attractive by its more managable size, as wall map go.
