Scarce map of Los Angeles County, published by James Chadwick in Los Angeles.
The map is focused on transit lines, with excellent detail identifying the many train stations along the various lines within Los Angeles County. The map is also interesting for its depiction of the City of Los Angeles.
The map includes advertising cover art for the Holmes Book Company. With locations in both Northern California and Southern California, Holmes traces its routes to a Mission Street address in San Francisco in 1894 and remained in business until 1987.
Maps of Los Angeles County are quite unusual in this time period, especially those focused on transit routes.
