Description

Finely executed plan of the Siege of Belgrade, based upon an earlier plan by Huchtenberg.

The plan shows Belgrade under siege in 1717, during the Venetian-Austrian-Turkish War.   The positions of the besieging forces, led by Prince Eugene of Savoy can been seen along with the lines of fire from inside the city foritifications.  The names of the commanding officers are shown throughout the map, along with a key explaining the events depicting.

Belgrade was then held by the Ottoman Empire, with the siege being undertaken by a force led by Prince Eugene of Savoy.  The siege ended on August 17, 1717.
