Fascinating brochure advertising land on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound produced by the Calvin Phillips Company. The island is shown from the north, with Fidalgo Island, Camano Island, Everett, Seattle, the Olympic Peninsula, and Mt. Rainier also visible. This brochure specifically targets farmers from the east and mid-west, enticing them to move to Whidbey by describing a favorable growing climate and the beautiful surroundings. Benefits of living on Whidbey include "No floods-no reptiles-no saloons, and-no hobos."
The view is well-designed, and the focus on Whidbey is notable. Towns named include Coupeville, Saratoga, Sandy Point, and Langley. "Oak Harbor Lands" and "Greenbank Lands" are shown razed and ready for farming.
The Calvino Philips family owned and operated a family farm in Greenbank in the 1900s, with the main barn on the farm dating to 1904. By 1916, the farm would have evolved into "a big stock-breeding farm with a thrifty appearance" according to the Oak Harbor News. The business offshoot of the family, the Calvin Philips Co., was registered in Tacoma and sold Whidbey Island lands around Greenbank and Oak Harbor.

The map uses the phrase "in the summer past, at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition" dating this map to either the fall of 1909 or the winter/spring of 1910.
