If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Description

Attractive Italian map of the Pearl or Canton River showing its outflow near Macao and Hong Kong. The river passes through several major cities including Kuangscieu (Guanzhou) and Fasciang (Foshan) along its many branches before flowing into the South China Sea. Relief is shown for the mountain ranges in the area. Hong Kong Island is named, with two settlements, Vittoria and Kaolung. The depth of the ocean offshore is also shown.

This map appeared in Leonardo Vallardi's Nuova Geografia Universale.

Harbour of Hong Kong

This is an attractive antique view of Hong Kong harbour, drawn by an Englishman in the first half of the 19th century. The view shows the harbour in the distance, framed by tall mountains. In the foreground, merchants and peasants dressed in traditional garments carry their goods to and from the bay. Small fishing vessels sail through the bay, with larger European and Chinese ships stationed in the background. The view is tastefully colored and delicately engraved.
