Description
Fine example of DeBelleforest's rare antique woodcut bird's eye view of Lyon, from his Cosmographie Universelle De Tout le Monde.
The view is based on Sebastian Munster's view of Lyon. De Belleforest borrowed heavily from his contemporaries in composing the images for his Cosmographie. Most notably he copied Ortelius, Munster, and Braun & Hogenberg.
