Description

Early road map of San Diego published by the Automobile Club of Southern California in 1923 or '24.

The map extends from National City in the south to Pacific Beach in the north.

Point Loma Nazarene is prominently labeled "Theosophical Institute". The airport has not been built yet, nor has North Island been joined with Coronado. In Old Town, "Ramona's Marriage Place" is labeled. The San Diego Mission is shown. Mission Bay had yet to be substantially engineered into its present configuration.

The map can be dated by the inclusion of "So. Figueroa St." on the inside and "Figueroa St. at Adams" on the cover.
