Description

Beautiful bird's-eye view poster looking east over Lake Constance (Bodensee), with the town of Heiden as the main focus.

The poster advertised the short Rorschach-Heiden rail line that brought tourists from the main Bodensee railroad up to the alpine hamlet.

This is one of several posters of the area that used Johannes Weber's image in varying formats. This example was published in circa 1890.

A wonderful example of 19th-century color lithography and railroad viewmaking.
