Description
Striking chromolithographic view of New York and Vicinity, centered on Manhattan Island, published in 1909 by Hammond.
Full color birds eye view from Yonkers to South Norwalk in the north and from Freeport to Ellis Island in the south. The view illustrates a New York the teeming metropolis, with 4 bridges across the East River and a jam packed image of mid- and high-rise buildings on Manhattan, fanning out in a marvelous panorama of the surrounding regions.
Areas such as Queens and Nassau are still shown as thinly populated.
Condition Description
Folding view with original printed covers. Minor toning, discoloration and split along one fold.
