Description

Scarce and attractive pictorial map of Minnesota from the June 9, 1946 issue of the Minneapolis Star-Journal and Tribune.

The map was issued in the summer after the end of World War II and embodies the optimism and relative leisure of the Post-War Era. The map celebrates the agricultural and commercial output of the state ("Bread Basket of the World" "First State in Potato Acreage") as well as the tourist attractions and landmarks that one might visit on their summer vacation.

The map contains icons for Minnesota and Wisconsin State Parks.

Due to its being issued as a separate newsprint map, the map is very scarce today, especially in the good condition that this map is in.
