Description

Finely illustrated double hemisphere map of the World, showing the tracks of Captain James Cook's first voyage of exploration and the circumnavigation of Anson.

The map is richly embellished with decorative finishes and includes a small map of the northern hemisphere.

Australia is shown with Van Diemen's Land still attached to Australia, prior to the discovery of the Bass Strait in 1797, by George Bass and Matthew Flinders. Cook's passage between the islands of New Zealand and the complete coastline of New Zealand reflect the reports from Cook's Voyages.

A fine decorative map of the World.
