Description

Half of view is dominated by the Ruby River. Paddleboat docked at town site. Buildings being constructed on hillside to the right. 

Ruby is approximately 250 miles west of Fairbanks on the Yukon River, which was established around 1910 when gold was found in the area.

At its height, around the time of this photo, it had a peak population around 3,000. It currently has a population under 200.

Condition Description
Several cracks and tears entering the edges of the image, repaired on verso with archival tape.
