Rare promotional map published for for the Sacramento Golden Empire Centennial in 1939.

The Sacramento Golden Empire Centennial was organized to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the founding of Sacramento in 1839.

The map includes a central view of "Roarin Camp" Sacramento, a "Near Replica of Typical Mining Town" at the center, with a second image of "Sutter's Fort Today."

A row of early Californios is shown, including, John August Sutter, Peter Lassen, General Vallejo, Sam Brennan, John Bidwell, James Marshall, Kit Carson, Jon Fremont and General Sherman.

Surrounding the map is a series of historical vignettes, showing important early events in California History, including first railroad, first state Capitol building, first arrival of Pony Express, First Stage Coach in 1849, multiple gold rush scenes, Donner Party survivors, scenes from the Life of John Sutter,
