Nadine Semans's Rare Map of Fort Snelling and its Surroundings.
Attractive and seemingly unrecorded pictorial map of the Minnesota River Valley, showing Fort Snelling, the Sibley House, the Faribault House, Mendota Bridge, Pike Island, etc. Prepared for the Daughters of the American Revolution, Minnesota Chapter Regent Mrs. Leland S. Duxbury.
The map, which is printed in blue ink, has a decorative border at left and right, showing General and Mrs. Sibley, a Sioux Indian and Voyageur, "The old round tower at Fort Snelling - 1820" etc.
A note in the lower right reads: "Prepared for the State Regent Mrs. Leland S. Duxbury by Nadine Evers Semans - cartographer - Minneapolis, Minnesota 1936"
We are aware of a single copy in the collection of the University of Minnesota, and one other copy in a private collection.
