Description
Scarce early view of San Francisco, with a stylized view of the city and bay from a hillside, apparently looking north toward the Golden Gate and Alcatraz.
The view was issued during the Gold Rush at a time when European audiences were hungry for images of California.
The present example seems to be a later impression on 20th Century paper.
