Description

Rare plan of Paris oriented with northeast at the top, published in Siena by Matteo Florimi.

An uncommon bird's-eye plan of Paris derived from the Lafreri school of map makers.

Includes two large coats of arms held by an angel, with  a second map of France in the lower left corner. Compass rose and key locating 71 points of interest.

The map is drawn from Andre Thevet's Vray Pourtraict of 1568.

Condition Description
Trimmed into the image at the bottom, with the missing area replaced in facsimile. Top margin extended.
