Description

Rare early map of Boulder Colorado, issued by the Boulder City Improvement Association, based upon the work of renowned architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr., son of the designer of Central Park.

One of the earliest obtainable maps of Boulder, Colorado, the map was prepared by the locally famous Henry A. Drumm. Olmsted designed the Boulder park, trail, and road system. This system is still in use today.

Rarity

The map is apparently quite rare.  No examples of the map appear in OCLC.  

Frederick Law Olmsted Biography

Frederick Law Olmsted (1822 – 1903) was an American Journalist, Architect and Designer, who is widely considered the father of American landscape architecture. 

Olmstead is most famous for designing many well-known urban parks, including Central Park and Prospect Park in New York City.
