Description

With Graphic Model of The Use of Tunnels During War

Rare set of maps and diagrams on a single sheet, illustrating the fortifications during the Siege of Dantzig (Gdansk).

The image of the Descente du Fosse (Down the Pit) is quite unusual.

The Siege of Danzig (March 19 to May 24, 1807) was the French encirclement and capture of Danzig during the War of the Fourth Coalition.  Approximately 27,000 French troops commanded by Marshall Lefebvre besieged a Prussian force led by Marshall Kalckreuth, who were stationed at Dantzig.
