Nice example of Tirion's plan of New Orleans and the mouth of the Mississippi River.
The map was most likely drawn from Jeffery's Plan, published 10 years earlier. Ft. Balise is shown on the River plan.
One of the few obtainable plans of New Orleans from the 18th Century.
Isaak Tirion was a prominent Dutch publisher based in Amsterdam in the eighteenth century. He is best known for historical works that included prints showing scenes from around the world. He also produced maps, such as those in the Nieuwe Hand-Atlas of 1744.
