Highly detailed maps of these two significant Civil War battles. The Bull Run map notes Bivouacs and the positions of the forces at the commencement of the engagement at Sudley Springs, with the Union positions in blue and confederate in red. The troop positions are identified by officers, and the position of Genl. Beauregard's Headquarters is also noted, along with the Manassas Railway station and line. The Manassas map shows survesy of the roads in the area, the cross lines connecting fileds, woods and roads and other details. The map includes the routes of the various troop movements, places where certain officers were killed, the names of various farms and other significant details. The map was issued to accompany the monumental Atlas To Accompany The Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies. 1861-1865. The publication of this work was the most comprehensive compilation of maps of the Civil War.
