Description

Rare Map of Asia Showing the Sea of Korea (Mer de Coree)

Rare separately issued map of Asia, published by Clouet, first issued in 1764.

The map locates the Manilla Galeon Trade route from the Philippines to Acapulco, Mexico, along with the 1778 and 1779 route of Cook and Clarke.

This late edition, in full orginal color, was likely re-issued to illustrate Cook's voyages.

This edition of the map is apparently very rare on the market and is the first example we have ever seen.

Condition Description
Minor repair at lower right corner, just entering printed image and some minor spotting.
