As noted described by the Library Company of Philadelphia:

Caricature of an African American couple singing and playing guitar in a parlor. "Mr Mortimer," in a coat and tails, stands with one hand on his heart and with his other holding a sheet of music as he sings a love song to the seated woman playing a guitar decorated with blue ribbons. She wears a large white bonnet garrishly decorated with ribbons and a bright maroon dress with puff long sleeves and comments that he sings . . .
