Rare Separately Published World Map by Joseph Remondini & Sons.
Striking large format decorative double hemisphere map of the World, published in Venice.
First issued by Paolo Santini in the mid-1770s, this rare separately published example has been significantly updated, including advances from the voyages of Captain James Cook and other late 18th century explorers.
The details associated with the Antarctic region have now been completely removed, with the details of the explorations along the Northwest Coast of America and in search of the Northwest passage incorporated, up to the information reported by Arrowsmith at the end of the 18th century.
The present state of the map is extremely rare. This is the first example we have ever seen.
