Description
A Rare American Wall Map of the World
Scarce separately issued folding map of the World, published by HS Tanner.
It is probable that Tanner was inspuired by Aaron Arrowsmith, who issued a larger map with the same title in London in this time period, and Samuel Lewis, who issued a copy of Arrowsmith, published in Philadelphia.
Condition Description
Old Color. Original folder (worn). Green linen edges, sewn down. Dissected and laid on linen, with some fold and point breaks and loss of linen. Minor staining and fly specs throughout the map. Holes in the 4 corners, from wall mounting.
