Description
Striking example of the 1750 edition of this decorative map of Africa, surrounded by dozens of coats of arms showing the various states and countries, published by Guillaume Danet in Paris.
The map was first issued by Danet in 1731 and later revised by Desnos in about 1760, at which time he significantly revised the cartographic details.
This edition is quite rare -- this is the first example we have seen on the market.

Centerfold reinforced on verso. Minor marginal restorations.
