Description

Rare Lafreri School view of Florence, first published by Giulio Ballino in 1569.

Engraved by Paolo Forlani in Venice, this is one of the earliest obtainable views of Florence, pre-dating even the monumental work of Braun & Hogenberg in 1570.

The map includes a key locating 60 points of interest as well as 2 coats of arms.

A fine example of this important early view of Venice. The present example includes text on the verso and was most likely issued in Zaltieri's De' Disegni Delle Piu Illustri Citta.
