Description

Unrecorded sea chart of of the North Sea, published by Jacob Robijn.

A finely executed map showing the entirety of the strategically important North Sea, a place of tremendous commerce and interest among the major Northern European Maritime powers.

Jacob Robijn was a leading Duch chartmaker who has taken over the business of Arent Roggeveen following Roggeveen's death and would continue publication of sea chart for the remainder of the decade, before passing on his business to Johannes Loots circa 1706.

The present sea chart is apparently unrecorded. We were not able to find examples of any map by Robijn or any of his contemporaries which resembles this work.
