Description

Nice example of this rare birdseye view of the region bounded by the Delaware, Chesapeake and Albermarle Sound and extending east to the Ohio River, Summerville and Sutton's Court House.

This unusual birdseye view was printed by Sarony Major and Knapp and lithographed and engraved by J. Schedler, apparently intended for both the American and European markets, as publishers in New York (W. Schaus), London (H. Graves & Co.) and Paris (Francois Delarue) are listed.

The view identifies the forts, railroads, roads, towns, courthouses and other significant geographical features in the region, depicted in a unique topographical/birdseye format. Numerous sailing vessels in the oceans.

The view is very rare on the market.
