Description

Rare bird's eye view of Mexico City, published as a promotional piece for La Colonia Roma Sur in Mexico City by Henry Wellge in 1906.

The view includes a key locating approximately 30 points of interest and notes the population of Mexico City at 400,000 and the Distrito Federal at 550,000. Several smaller views provide different perspectives of the city.

The text in red at each side of the lower margin provides a fine testimonial regarding the new Colonia Roma Sur, noting that it includes many modern urban amenites, including Asphalt Streets, Sanitation, abundant water, trees, parks, etc. There is a further testimonal to the growth, progress and investment potential for Mexico City and notes that land can be purchased with 10% down payment and the rest financed at 6% over 10 years.

OCLC locates only a single example at the University of Arizona, which appears to be a variant edition without the advertising
