Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Shipping rates are provided as part of the checkout process.

Description

Detailed map of Long Beach, California, privately prepared by Southern Pacific Railroad for internal usage.

The map is based upon a "map of J.L. Foster, city engineer of Long Beach in 1906 [and] data accumulated from records of Los Angeles Co, and private surveys by Mr. Foster."

The map illustrates the subdivisions in Long Beach within 1300 feet of the center line of the Southern Pacific Railroad, west of the Los Angeles River. and centered on the San Gabriel River. A significant part of Long Beach is shown in remarkable detail. The progress and growth of the City is quite remarkable over the past decade, in comparison to a map of circa 1900 (see link below).
