Rare early plan of Famagusta in Cyprus, from Camocio's rare Isole Famose porti, fortezze, e terre maritime . . .
Detailed early plan, showing the fortified castle in the bottom center, surrounded by armies and ships off the coastline, along with an early look at the topographical features beyond the castle walls. The present example is offered here in the second state, which includes the plate number (71) in the lower right corner. Camocio's Isole Famose porti, fortezze, e terre maritime . . . is quite rare in its complete form and this plan of Famagusta rarely appears on the market.
Condition Description
Minor wormhole in upper left image and minor tear at lower right corner, outide of printed image, repaired on verso. Very minor soiling
