Description
One of the earliest obtainable large format birdseye views of Salt Lake.
Bird's eye view of the city with insets showing City Hall and Fort Douglas. One of the more interesting elements of the view is the prominent display of Anderson's Tower (top center). Built to entice tourists and residents to travel to the foothills of Salt Lake City to climb the tower and pay for a commanding view of the City, the tower became known as Anderson's Folly, because most people simply enjoyed the view from the hill on which the tower was built.
The view is very rare, with OCLC locating just a single example (Bancroft Library).
Condition Description
Flattened and backed with thin layer of Japan paper. Several repaired fold splits.
