Description

Rare separately issued map of Western Colorado, centered on Aspen and Pitkin County, with Denver at the eastern edge of the map.

The map illustrates the Gold Districts, Silver Districts, Coal Districts and Mineral Belts in Colorado, along with Land Offices, County Seats, Township Lines, County Lines, Railroads, Projected Railroad and Boundaries of Land Districts. The map illustrates Colorado in the midst of its booming silver mining period. The map is very rare and includes display advertising around the outside of the map. The present example lacks the advertisng, which may have been removed either before distribution or by an early owner.

OCLC locates 5 examples (Colorado Historical Society, Denver Public Library, Yale, Newberry Library and University of Chicago). Not in Library of Congress or Rumsey.
