A fascinating depiction of Southern California during the high point of light rail transportation. Hundreds of train stops shown, along with many towns that either no longer exists or which have been absorbed by neighboring cities. The map is overprinted in red to promote the town of Van Nuys and includes a promotional note in the lower right corner, extolling the virtues of Van Nuys. On the verso, there are pictures of Van Nuys in December 1911, at the opening of the Pacific Electric Railway to the town. Includes photographs of a number of marvelous craftsman style and other houses.
