Good example of this rare birdseye view of the region bounded by the Delaware, Chesapeake and Albermarle Sound and extending east to the Ohio River, Summerville and Sutton's Court House. A stunning birdseye view printed by Sarony Major and Knapp and lithographed and engraved by J. Schedler. The forts, railroads, roads, towns, courthouses and other significant geographical features and are shown in a unique topographical/birdseye format. Numerous sailing vessels in the oceans. Only the second copy we have ever seen, and only one example of this map has appeared in a dealer catalogue in the past 20 years, (noting tears and restorations throught). This example was previously on rods, which were removed. It has some minor chips and a long tear in the Atlantic, but is still in good condition. Stephenson 17.35.
