Description

A nice full color example of DeBelleforest's rare map of Northern Europe, from his Cosmographie Universelle De Tout le Monde. The map is based upon Ortelius' first modern map of the German Empire, issued in 1570, and includes the same decorative cartouche, ship at sea and coat of arms. However this example is far rarer than Ortelius map, with no appearances of the map in dealer catalogues reported in the past 20 years. A tiny bit of reinforcement at one fold, but generally a v ery nice example of this rare and sought after map.
