Description

"A Masterpiece of Graphic Design" (Hornsby)

A striking example of Ernest Dudley Chase's rare tribute to the American Armed Forces at a pivotal moment in the History of World War II.

Chase utilizes Japan’s Rising Sun motif as the anchor to this evocative pictorial map of American warplanes attacking Japan from all points of the compass.

The verso image, Pacific Battle Map, was first issued by Ernest Dudley Chase in 1942 in black and his here re-issued in red, with the copyright 1944.

Two of Chase's rarest maps on a single sheet.
