Description
Scarce early promotional map of Utah, with large insets of the Salt Lake Valley and and early Plat of the town, including a key locating 12 points of interest, including the first temple, Brigham Young's residence and offices, and the General RR Depot, among other details. Also includes a portrait of Brigham Young, with a signature and the word "correct." The primary map includes nice details concerning towns, rivers, mountains, roads, forts, counties, the Overland Mail Route, Railroads, Gunnison's Route, etc. The map was issued in two editions, the Osborne Press and the Skandinavisk Post, both of NY. This is a rare separately issued unbound copy of which only a handful have appeared on the market, usually appearing in pocket map format.
